Arena Info

The Desert Arena is geared towards battles of scale rather than your usual probending forrays. Dry air is pumped into the arena and the number of water sources is limited to only a couple. This by no means disadvantages the waterbender however as these sources are both vast and close to the surface. Rather than earth disks, the entire arena is littered with rocks that range from small stones to large boulders. But earthbenders are not allowed to bend the entire boulders, only allowed to take pieces of them for attacks. The metal floor of the arena is covered by a thick layer of powdered glass to simulate sand. All participants are required to wear full body coverings as well in keeping with the desert theme. Spread across the arena are several pools of quicksand, but it is too difficult to tell between that and regular sand. Scorpion scarabs also crawl all about the area, trained to creep up on probenders and bite them. But their stings are non-poisonous and are just quite painful.

Note: Please do not forget the trap roll every 2 posts that determines whether your character is harmed by one of the two traps. Regular outcome rolls must still be made every post. If you roll an odd number your character will be affected by a trap, they will not if the number rolled is even.

Match

VS

The coin toss was shown in favor of Sauri/Wing. He may take the first post or pass it off to Sky/Akhi in the area below.

Sauri: Sauri strolled over the sand, looking around the arena with disdain, he dislike this terrain, but there was little he could do about it.
"So, I presume he's my next opponent." mused Sauri as he spotted Akhilesh on the other side of the arena. Considering this arena limited how far away he could move from a usable source of water, Sauri chose to play to his strengths and ran towards the edge of the nearby pool.
"Time to see what makes you tick." he quipped, drawing water together and compressing it into a floating strand above his hand, discharging a large compressed waterspout at his target.

Result: 3: Miss/dodge; the target is not struck with the attack

Akhilesh: Akhilesh, walking into the dry arena, decided a bit of a different tactic this round. He decided to focus on the air currents around him. As he saw the waterspout coming at him, he leaned heavily back, using small air blasts to keep him from not falling down. While waiting a bit, he exclaimed "Well, atleast you're helping me cool down." hoping that Sauri could hear him. As the waterspout passed, he used his hands as an axis while he spun around creating an air swipe aimed at his waterwielding opponent.

Result 2: Glancing blow; the target is struck partially with the attack

Sauri: Sauri had hoped for a less nimble opponent, as an airbender would have have the advantage over him here if he couldn't put together some cover. He was caught of guard by his thoughts and didn't manage to hear the air swipe coming until it was too close, using some of the water he still had on hand to partially cloak himself, but still felt the brunt of the blow. The swipe had hit him with enough force to throw the waterbender off his feet, but it felt like he hadn't suffered anything worse.
"Airbender." Sauri muttered, slightly irked at being outdone as he climbed to his feet again and brushed himself off. "And a smartass."
He decided to change tactics and move away from brute force towards a more calculated strategy. Accumulating more water, Sauri collected a substantial amount from the pool and gathered it around him, before launching himself upwards on a waterspout. He carefully balanced himself on the watery vantage point, and extended an arm, launching a torrent of pressurised water bullets at Akhilesh.
"What's that phrase people use again? Oh yes, I'm making it rain."

Trap Roll 4: None

Result 2: Glancing blow; the target is struck partially with the attack

Akhilesh: Akhilesh wasn't surprised at the waterspout, as he had encountered the technique numerous times before. The water bullets were, as he knew, an easier technique, but still effective. "Let me blow you away." he exclaimed, while creating a simple air shield that should have been effective, had it not been for the scorpion sting that made caused great pain, while also deconcentrating him while he was maintaing the shield. This caused it to become weak quickly, allowing for a partial hit by the water bullets.
After he sent the scorpion flying across the arena he snickered and said "Well, time for some airball.". Akhilesh jumped into the air and sent an air ball towards Sauri, all while shouting "Catch!" to the waterbender. Afterwards he landed on his stung leg, causing him aching once more. "Talk about falling down on your left leg, right?"

Result : 1: Direct hit; the target is struck directly with the attack

Trap Roll 5: Akhilesh is affected by a trap
