The Desert Arena is geared towards battles of scale rather than your usual probending forrays. Dry air is pumped into the arena and the number of water sources is limited to only a couple. This by no means disadvantages the waterbender however as these sources are both vast and close to the surface. Rather than earth disks, the entire arena is littered with rocks that range from small stones to large boulders. But earthbenders are not allowed to bend the entire boulders, only allowed to take pieces of them for attacks. The metal floor of the arena is covered by a thick layer of powdered glass to simulate sand. All participants are required to wear full body coverings as well in keeping with the desert theme. Spread across the arena are several pools of quicksand, but it is too difficult to tell between that and regular sand. Scorpion scarabs also crawl all about the area, trained to creep up on probenders and bite them. But their stings are non-poisonous and are just quite painful.
Note: Please do not forget the trap roll every 2 posts that determines whether your character is harmed by one of the two traps. Regular outcome rolls must still be made every post. If you roll an odd number your character will be affected by a trap, they will not if the number rolled is even.
With these rooms, dice rolls can be performed by participants. Be warned that these rooms contain logs, cheat and I will know. Simply put #d5 and you'll perform a roll. Links can be found in the comments section.
The coin toss was shown in favor of Akhi/Sky. He may take the first post or pass it off to Aratani/Orbit in the area below. Sky decided to pass the first post to Orbit
Aratani: Aratani strode toward her side of the arena with a smug look on her face. She was dressed so suggestively that it was a wonder how her body parts were going to remain concealed throughout the battle. White hair spilled over her shoulders, fringe nearly concealing her shocking cyan optics. She had a small beauty mark by her left eye, which usually drew most people's attention. With a soft smile, she got into a stance. First, she was going to play around with him; like a cat messes with a mouse. The girl bolted for the closest water source and quickly produced a water whip, charging toward him until she was in a close enough range to attempt to whip him in the leg, wondering if it could possibly unbalance the large man.
Outcome: 2 - Graze
Akhilesh: Akhilesh walked into the arena with a presumably fake skull on his head and a quite adjusted outfit for the desert arena. He had decided to look both intimidating as well as be able to camouflage himself among the sand. After taking a slight blow from the whip, whose force he managed to diminish with by taking a step backwards and the thickness of his full body armour. "Prepare to be... blown away." A good airbending joke was never too much. Akhilesh went for a simple air kick towards Aratani's lower leg area. With fervor he did a 270 degree spin with his leg that was just hit and kicked towards the waterbenders thin legs. Although not potentially dangerous for her limbs, he aimed to have her fall face front and the sand that would be blow away would start creating a blurry atmosphere, which would ultimately be the key to Akhilesh's victory.
Outcome: 1 - Direct hit
Aratani: Aratani cursed as she was forced to fall forward. However, she begun to roll in another direction and away from him. It took quite a large deal of energy to hop up on her feet, as the sand was soft underfoot. She really hated the beach. Stupid brute with his dumb airbending puns. She rolled her eyes and then begun to use condensation to create water for her to bend. She then preformed water bullet, hoping to pummel him with the beads of water. As he was distracted, she ran at him, sliding between his legs so that she could spin around and kick him right behind the kneecaps to bring him down to the ground. While on the ground, a bloody scorpian scarab bit her, causing a yelp of pain. She struggled to her feet and attempted swatting him multiple times against the skull on his head with a snarl.
Outcome & Trap Roll: 1 - Direct Hit and then 3 - Trap
Akhilesh: The bullets, albeit rather small, in succession were able to knock him back, which made him disoriented for a while and as he was already losing his already shaken balance, he got hit in the back of his knee caps, falling down with his skull-covered head into the artificial sand of the arena. As he used an air blast to get back on his feet he used an air swipe on the waterbender girl in hopes of getting her while she was under the effect of the scorpion sting. As he did that, he jumped a bit to the left, only to notice, after a moment, that he had doomed himself by landing onto quicksand.
Outcome & Trap Roll: 4 - Block and then 5 - Trap
Aratani: Aratani managed to use water cloak to make water coat her arms in time to defend the blows. Carefully as he was sinking into the quick sand, she begun to lash at him with water whip.
Outcome: 3 - Miss/Dodge
Akhilesh: Akhilesh was busy with the quicksand, untill he noticed the waterwhip. With a skillful lean to the left he was able to avoid it. after which he created an air suction above the sand, which made the sand come upwards. He continued by using an air punch through the sands towards Aratani, hoping for an extra effective strike.
Outcome: 3 - Miss/Dodge
Orbit has neglected to post, so Sky wins the match and gets to move onto Round 2. No EP will be awarded for this match.
