Appearance Ashi is about average height, standing at around 5"7', and has a strong but slender build. She has dark black hair that just brushes against her shoulders. Her heart shaped face is soft and gentle like her mother's, with bright blue-green eyes she inherited from her father.
Personality Ashi is very family oriented and is very protective of her mother and little brother. Growing up in the Southern Air Temple, Ashi has grown to become extremely overly cautious and mistrusting towards Waterbenders. She has long since abandoned the peaceful teachings of the Air Nomads and learned to put her Airbending ability to more combative uses, which she will not hesitate to use if she feels that her family is threatened. Though she may seem cold at first, she becomes quite carefree with people once they have earned her trust. She can be quite bubbly and cheerful towards her friends and family, and has a bit of a quirky sense of humor.
History Ashi was born and raised by her single mother (Rinchen) at the Southern Air Temple, one of the five cities of Airbenders that dotted the world. Though growing up in Southern Air Temple was a little less than peaceful due to the random and sporadic attacks of the Wastelanders from the South Pole, Ashi still somehow managed to go several years without much issue. Since she had grown up with Airbenders most of her life, Ashi learned to use her bending abilities at the young age of five. After learning about Ashi's bending ability, Rinchen called an Airbending Master named Kunchen to teach her daughter personally. Ashi picked up on Airbending quite quickly, mostly due to Kunchen's encouraging and fatherly nature. After several short months of training, Ashi began to see her master as more of a fatherly figure, since she had no idea who her real father was. Over time, Rinchen and Kunchen grew close, and it wasn't very long before the two were married. Almost a year after their marriage, Ashi's baby brother Yonten was born. As 6-year-old Ashi held her little brother in her arms for the first time, Kunchen knelt down and gave her a speech about the importance of life and to cherish each day as if it were her last. A lesson that Ashi still carries with her to this very day. Only a week had passed when disaster struck. The Wastelanders seemingly appeared out of nowhere, and began their pillage of the city for food and livestock. One of the Wastlanders found his way into Ashi's home, demanding to see Rinchen in a fit of rage as he broke everything he could with his water whips as a show of force. Kunchen tried to deal with the Wastelander peacefully, but when the Wastelander found out that he and Rinchen were married, he was absolutely livid and attacked Kunchen without mercy. The two came to blows, fighting each other like their lives depended on it, and Rinchen was forced to leave her husband's side to protect Ashi and Yonten from harm. They hid in a hidden shelter overnight, and when they came out again when the dust settled, they found Kunchen lying dead on the floor with a slowly melting ice spike through his chest, and the Wastelander nowhere to be found. The next few years passed by in a blur. After grieving for Kunchen for several months, Ashi began training with airbending on her own. She learned to sharpen her skills in acrobatics, combining the fast and fluid movement with her bending to become a force to be reckoned with. Though she still isn't as skillful as the Airbending Masters, Ashi makes up for her lack of power with her unmatched speed and agility. Years and years of fighting off the Wastelander Attacks has caused Ashi to severely detest and mistrust Waterbenders. By the time she was 19-years-old, she felt that she finally had enough. She easily convinced her mother and brother that their lives would be much easier in Republic City, since they were all getting tired of these random Wastelander attacks, and they decided to move. Feeling no real attachment to the Southern Air Temple since Kunchen's death, the small family wasted no time gathering their things and getting onto the first airship the could find and headed out to Republic City. Along the way, Ashi and Yonten befriended a baby Ferret Bat that had just lost its mother that had fallen prey to a Hog Wolf. The siblings decided to adopt the baby Ferret Bat into their little family and named him Karma. Upon finally arriving in Republic City, the family immediately sought refuge in Air Temple Island, so that they can feel safe with other Airbenders around them.
Powers Air Nomad Initial Powers Air Blast The user sends a burst of air out in the shape of a ball in front of them which can be used offensively or defensively. Air Shield The user creates a funnel of air in front of them that redirects attacks around them. Air Swipe The user sends a sharp jet of air out in the shape of a crescent which can be used to cut things. Enhanced Agility (Passive) The user is naturally more agile than a normal human. Gliding (Passive) The user can glide across the air for a short period of time; this can be sustained for a medium amount of time by using a glider.
