Name: Buroken

Personality

Buroken is a mute, though he does actually vocalize (Whimpers when hurt, Etc) Though he murders indiscriminately, he does have the mental capability to know when to back off, such as when he's overpowered, or there's too many people around, and he can make allies, or even friends, though his loyalties can change at the drop of a hat. He hasn't been treated well for his entire life, so treat him nicely and he'll return the favor.

History

Buroken was the illegitimate son of an Earth Republic soldier and a non-bender mother. He was abandoned at a young age because he was mute, and grew up in an orphanage. The orphanage was very impoverished, and mostly populated by earthbenders. Being a mute non-bender, he was endlessly bullied. Then, one day, when he was 12 years old, he snapped. Pets went missing from the surrounding town, and were found apparently eaten by wild animals. Several hunting parties were sent into the surrounding wilderness, but never turned anything up. A few weeks after the animals started going missing, the orphanage burned down. Not many children survived, and oddly only one escaped unharmed. All of the surviving children were adopted out of pity, mostly by wealthy families. Save for one. One that was mute and had an odd look about him when he had a sharp object or saw a small animal.

Buroken was cut loose to wreak havoc. He drifted from place to place, killing and eating animals, usually pets. Most places he stopped never found out, though suspicion was always cast on "That quiet drifter." He was occasionally pursued by the authorities,  and often rightly so, but was never caught. He very rarely found legitimate work, usually on farms, but was always fired.

His arrival in Republic City was more a happy accident then a conscious decision. He had been floating around the docks of a manufacturing town for a few weeks. One night he simply fell asleep in a crate and woke up on a ship headed for Republic City. He was caught on the ship and forced to work, but he skipped out upon reaching the city.

  • Poison Adept (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in the creation and usage of various non-lethal poisons. The effects can range from slowed movement, pain, nausea and disorientation. They cannot use any poisons that would completely render a foe unable to defend themselves.|

  • First Aid (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in basic medical training using herbs and other medicines to treat minor injuries on themselves and others.

Initial Abilities
  • Smithing and Engineering (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in crafting weapons, armors and even basic machinery made of metal and even basic composite materials. Metal is more durable but heavy and cumbersome while composites are lighter but more vulnerable.

  • Melee Weapon Mastery (Passive)

The user has extensively trained with all forms of melee weaponry in order to become a master in the usage of them. As such, the user may use any form of melee weapon to its fullest potential. (This includes things such as: swords, axes, maces, etc)

  • Platinum Forging (Passive; Exclusive to Weapon Master)

The user is knowledgeable in forging anything made of platinum. Items are highly resilient and are unable to be metalbent. Not only this, but they are stronger and sharper than regular metals; making them able to cut through, withstand impacts better or break things a normal weapon could not. Platinum weighs just as much as regular metal would. NOTE: Under no circumstances should a character have a weapon, armor or devices made out of platinum without this power.

  • Collapsible Shield (Exclusive to Weapon Master)

The user has the knowledge to construct and use collapsible shields attached to the forearms. While normally retracted, the shields extend outwards to provide more protection against incoming attacks. These shields can be made out of a variety of materials to augment their weight and strength.
