Bender type: Firebender
Fang stands at 6'3 and has black hair and blue eyes. He has very broad shoulders and amazing upper body strength, but his leg muscles are comparatively weak (Fang needs a few more leg days in his gym routine) and he plans on working on them.
Fang is a law-abiding member of the police force… most of the time. Every now and again Fang will have a rebellious moment and speak out against the law if he thinks it’s what’s best. He is outwardly gentlemanly and kind, always willing to help those less fortunate and give support to those who need it most, but he has abusive thoughts quite often that sometimes lead to him acting out. He often prioritises others over himself, which has led to him seeing himself as less important than those around him. He is self-depreciating, and though on the surface it’s only a small trait he is almost always in depressive moods that he covers up. Fang needs help and needs friends, but he often finds work getting in the way of any socialising or any other social activity.
It was a difficult time for Kiang as she entered adulthood, for as soon as she turned sixteen she was raped. Not that the rapist knew that, of course, but the incident scarred Kiang and convinced her that for the rest of her life she would be unlucky. She wasn’t wrong. Her family disowned her for carrying a child before marriage, and no man would take her knowing she was impure. When Kiang gave birth it was in a cold alleyway somewhere in the Fire Nation, attended to by a kind lightning bender and his daughter who saw her on their way home. The beautiful, bouncing baby boy that entered that dark world would never know his mother, as she died in childbirth. As the lightningbender had always wanted a son, he took the boy in and named him Fang.
Fang had a rough upbringing as his father never could earn enough money to support him and his sister, so the siblings would often beg for money on the streets but still. However rough life got however, their small family unit would push through to see another day, sometimes without food or a shelter over their heads. Huang (his father) and Mira (his sister) were both firebenders, and though Fang was not related to them he discovered his firebending abilities at age five which he inherited from his true (rapey) father.
He learnt the basic skills quickly, as did Mira, and the two of them turned from begging for money to performing for money. They created a good cop/bad cop pantomime routine that always drew in the audiences due to the performers’ young ages and cute faces. By the time Fang was eleven, the act had grown old, so he and Mira had to go back to begging. Before Fang’s fourteenth birthday, Huang decided to take the family on a one-way trip to Republic City as a part of something called a Citizenship Project.
The trio arrived in the big city with hopes that the future would be different, but the truth was less than satisfactory. Sure, Huang got a job at the power plant and made good money, but with his newly found affluence he began spending more and more on indulgent purchases instead of his children’s welfare. Due to this, Fang and Mira kept begging.
After three years in the city, Mira and Fang went off to get jobs of their own so they could support themselves. Mira went into the police force, and Fang became a waiter at a restaurant. Four years of happy lives followed for Fang and Mira. They lived with their father, who had remembered to feed them every now and again, but they were otherwise independent. One night they celebrated Mira’s rise to the position of detective in the police force, with both Huang and Fang being immensely proud of her.
Fang was so proud of his sister, yet he felt like he had accomplished nothing significant in the eyes of his family. Dark thoughts dwelt with him on a daily basis, never overtaking his thoughts, but always sitting there in the back of his mind. When Fang was 21, Mira was killed in a random gang attack. They took her by surprise and stabbed her in the back. There was a memorial service held by the police force, but only Fang could attend. Huang had grown sick since the death of his daughter and was in hospital in bad condition.
Fang’s life was falling apart and there was nothing he could do about. Rock bottom came when Huang died from heartbreak, leaving Fang alone in the world. He inherited all of both Huang and Mira’s money and assets, but it was not enough to keep him sane. He quit his job and spent a year living of his inherited money, wallowing in his sorrow and dark thoughts. After finding some small amount of resolution in the texts of ancient history, Fang started getting his life out of a rut and began anew.
When Fang was 23 he bought his own apartment and started a new job at the Republic City Police, wanting to honour his sister and prove his family that he could do good things for the world. Fang has been in the force for four years, and doesn’t plan to quit any time soon.
The user's punches and kicks will automatically create small arcs of fire from them as they strike that spills forward in the direction of the attack.
The user is able to shoot small blasts of fire in rapid succession toward something.
The user is able to create a belt of flames which they can use to strike and burn with.
The user is able to increase the heat of the air, objects and liquids.
The user is able to, if timed correctly, break away or deflect other fire attacks.
(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed.)
The user is able to disperse their flames and increase their size temporarily; however, the overall heat of the flame is weakened. (Achieved after 1 week)
The user is able to create intense bursts of flames from their hands and feet which can be used to propel them through the air for a short time. (Achieved after 2 weeks)
Fire Sage(Achieved after 1 month)
The user is able to create thin blades of fire from their melee attacks which are capable of cutting objects as well as burn them. While performing this technique, the user cannot use any other form of firebending techniques.
The user is able to create a small wall of flames which can block attacks as well as burn objects. Some sharp or dense objects cannot be blocked by these flames.
The user is able to create powerful torrents of flames from their mouth by simply igniting their breath. They are also able to maintain the torrent for as long as they can breathe outward. The torrent can only be used from close to mid range, but serves as a rather wide blast. Coming from deep within the body, these flames are also much hotter than normal flames and are nearly inextinguishable. This is said to be very similar to a dragon when it is breathing fire.
The user launches a fiery burst that spirals in a cone shape in the direction it's launched. The burst is rather narrow but can reach up to long distances.
(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)
The user is able to immolate something in a thin film of concentrated flames. Due to the concentration, the flames are highly resistant to being extinguished but also cannot be bent away from where they are once they are applied unless they are removed entirely. (Achieved after 2 months)
The user sends forth a large fireball which explodes into a torrent of flames upon contact. The user must take time to build up this attack and is vulnerable while doing so. (Achieved after 4 months)
The user is able to pressurize their flames in order to make them semi-dense and have a sort of tangible force when they strike something. (Achieved after 6 months)
