Shiori is an airbender from Ba Sing Se, the only daughter of two rich businesspeople. She currently resides in Republic City in hopes of starting a new life on her own.

Personality

Shiori takes exceptional pride in her appearance and is very confident of her beauty appeal, often exuding a certain amount of vanity and self-narcissism. Despite this superficial attitude, she keeps a friendly aura, and will keep her promises to those whom she fully trusts. Shiori is independent and capable of handling herself, despite of coming from a noble family. She dislikes people making the choices for her, stating that she herself is to pursue her own path. Polite and well-spoken as it seems, but she is filled with quiet determination and roaring confidence.

History

Shiori was born to Jigme, a fully-trained airbender, and Amrita, a non-bender, in Ba Sing Se. Her parents were rich businesspeople, thus they envisioned a lot of great things when she was born. However, Amrita died of giving birth to her, leaving a large scar on her spouse's heart. Determined to raise her strong and proper, Jigme did everything to lead her to the future he and his late wife dreamed of. She inherited the power of air from her father, but was trained harshly at an early age of the art of airbending. When she failed Jigme's expectations, she was punished, and was literally cold on her. Other than pressuring her, he was overly obsessed with his business, money, and lecturing her on how to manage a large company. To be short and simple, he neglected much of Shiori's personal wants.

Fed up of being controlled for her whole life and her estranged relationship with Jigme, Shiori felt the urge of independence and the vision to follow her own path, she ran away from home, and wandered through the Earth Kingdom to find Republic City, the place she always wanted to go ever since she was a child. This was due to the fact that she was always locked up in her own city. Although naive to the outside world, she used the power and wealth of her family to wound her way to the city with ease.

Shiori was determined to start a new life at Republic City, where no one will force decisions on her that would only break her self-perception. So here she was, walking down the streets and roads of the city, while using the cadet branch of her father's business there secretly to provide her with her needs, including an apartment in Tsun Mei Hotel.
