Bender type: Firebender
Kenshin is of average height with a short mop of brown hair and dark brown eyes, and is usually clean shaven. Even when on duty, he sports a generally dishevelled look, often wearing a wrinkled shirt with the sleeves rolled up, waistcoat and loose tie. He keeps a thin packet of cigarettes on the inside of his waistcoat.
Kenshin is far more pragmatic than his superior, being relatively laid back about most day-to-day issues. He has a knack for reading situations and is usually willing to let somewhat mundane issues slide in order to maintain a positive status quo. However, Kenshin is far from one to sit on the sidelines if the situation goes south and will throw the first punch if it means he can stop a fight before it starts. He is easily bored by simple tasks though and tries to get out of paperwork with any possible excuse. Despite appearing as unmotivated and uncaring, Kenshin is surprisingly knowledgeable about much of Republic City's shadier practices and has assembled an impressive number of contacts throughout the city.
Having been raised in an orphanage, Kenshin does not know his family history or where he originally comes from. His earliest memories are of growing up with other abandoned children in one of Republic City's orphanages, often being one of the quiet kids, sitting and watching while the others played or argued. Despite his solitary nature, Kenshin was adopted at the age of seven by a young couple who were unable to have their own children, Xinyi and Hideki. While he was initially disconnected, Kenshin eventual came to love his adoptive parents, particularly his mother Xinyi who owned a book shop. While still a young child, Kenshin spent hours looking through the various books for sale, eventually finding one that covered the history of bending. Curious if Kenshin had inherited any bending powers or not, Hideki practised with his son, teaching him the various basic stances for each element. Eventually Kenshin managed to awaken his latent firebending, and was quickly trained to make up for lost time. His teacher rapidly noticed Kenshin's tendencies to observe small details and keep a cool head, even while fighting, and recommended he join the police force.
After turning eighteen Kenshin followed his teacher's advice and applied to the academy, eventually graduating and starting off his career as a beat cop. During his time on the streets, Kenshin began to learn how far the corruption truly spread and how it affected regular people. His tendency to overlook less severe crimes made him somewhat liked by locals on his route, and it didn't take him long to gain their trust and information that helped him dismantle various gangs. Despite his inclination to look the other way at times, his superiors eventually decided to promote him at various times throughout his career. Eventually just prior to the Zhili Crisis, Kenshin was assigned to the then Inspector Shufen Yang's unit despite her light protests against Kenshin's less than by-the-book attitude. Nevertheless, Kenshin proved to be a reliable officer during the crisis, and was eventually made a Senior Inspector by Yang following her promotion to Chief of Police.

The user sends forth a massive fireball which explodes into a torrent of flames upon contact. The user must take time to build up this attack and is vulnerable while doing so.

The user is able to envelope an area in a massive wall of dense flames in order to block attacks or obstruct a path. The user is unable to move while controlling these flames, however, they can redirect this wall willingly while controlling it.
The user can project a wide flame attack around them which can knock nearby enemies over.
(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)
The user is able to charge up any of their flames which causes them to burn stronger and more intensely for a short time as well as having considerable more force behind them. (Achieved after 2 months)
The user is able to pressurize their flames in order to make them semi-dense and have a sort of tangible force when they strike something. (Achieved after 4 months)
The user is able to create thin blades of fire from their melee attacks which are capable of cutting objects as well as burn them. While performing this technique, the user cannot use any other form of firebending techniques. (Achieved after 6 months)
