Appearance

Being fairly tall, he stands at around 6'0. Kiriyama possess a slender build is not noticeably muscular. He typically wears a black trenchcoat and fedora, and has long blond hair, part of which is tied behind him. Kiriyama has green eyes and pale skin.



Personality

For the most part, Kiriyama maintains an outward appearance of aloofness and indifference. He generally seems to be a cold and emotionless individual, but on the inside, he does feel emotions—the most prominent ones being greed and desire for power. Kiriyama is also somewhat sadistic, taking pleasure from killing his enemies and often being quite open about the fact. Wanting nothing less than absolute power, he is willing to eliminate anyone who stands in his way of obtaining it. Kiriyama despises authority, especially the Republic City government, and only follows those whom he deems to be worthy of his loyalty (for a time). That being said, he has no problems with breaking the law.

While Kiriyama may be willing to pledge allegiance to a group, he typically only remains loyal to it as long as he can continue to profit from it in some way. But, when it really comes down to it, he is loyal to no one but himself. He doesn't care too much about honor, seeing it as a fool's prize, nor does he have a sense of morality. Kiriyama has been a perfectionist since the early years of his life, always feeling like he needed to do his best in whatever he does. That led him to master swordsmanship and other combat styles. But the emotion that he feels the most is greed, which was most likely due to his family's poor and low status background.



History

Born in the slums of Ba Sing Se, Kiriyama's family was poor and lived in a small apartment of the Lower Ring. He often committed petty theft and other crimes during his youth to make up for his family's low status, which resulted in him becoming very greedy. The young man also became an unfeeling and even sadistic individual in the process as he resorted to crime to make a living and survive. If his family was pestered by gangs or other threats, Kiriyama would fight back, even if the odds were against his favor and he would get beat up, being full of determination and pride. He learned early on that you needed to be skilled to survive, and trained himself in the art of the sword for a number of years (and with the assistance of others who knew it better than him). The hoodlum eventually became quite a skilled swordsman as a result and was able to effectively defend himself.

However, he knew that there was nothing for him in Ba Sing Se, not to mention that he had grown to despise the city because of the poverty and the government's lack of concern. That also caused him to generally dislike governments and the law. Kiriyama left the city at the age of seventeen and traveled through the Earth Republic, seeing nothing but poverty throughout the country, which only sharpened his anti-government resolve. Eventually, in disgust, the young swordsman decided to leave the country of his birth behind completely since there was more opportunity abroad. Kiriyama then signed up for the citizenship program of Republic City. The man went there to make a name for himself. Seeing at as a golden opportunity, he sought nothing less than absolute power and wealth, no matter what he had to do to obtain it.

The user has received extensive training with weights and other forms of exercise in order to increase their raw physical strength. They would easily exceed any person who relied on their bending.

  • Endurance Training (Passive)

The user has received extensive training in physical endurance in order to increase the amount of physical energy they have at any given time. They would easily exceed any person who relied on their bending.

The user is knowledgeable in basic medical training using herbs and other medicines to treat minor injuries on themselves and others. (since 21 August 2015) (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Poison Adept (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in the creation and usage of various non-lethal poisons. The effects can range from slowed movement, pain, nausea and disorientation. They cannot use any poisons that would completely render a foe unable to defend themselves. (since 28 August 2015) (Achieved after 2 weeks)

Initial Abilities
  • Explosive Crafting (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in the construction and usage of assorted types of explosives. These explosives can range from simple smoke grenades or even detonate-able satchel charges. NOTE: These weapons are illegal to use.

  • Smithing and Engineering (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in crafting weapons, armors and even basic machinery made of metal and even basic composite materials. Metal is more durable but heavy and cumbersome while composites are lighter but more vulnerable.

  • Adhesive Foam (Exclusive to Combat Engineer)

The user is able to carry a small canister of foam that quickly expands, being made of very sticky and tenacious materials, it provides an easy way to entangle and restrict foes.

  • Electrified Weaponry (Passive; Exclusive to Combat Engineer)

The user has and is knowledgeable on how to use assorted electrified weaponry which can shock and even incapacitate people struck with it. (This includes things such as bolas, Kali sticks, bo staffs, etc) NOTE: These weapons are illegal to use.

Advanced Abilities

  • Ranged Weapon Mastery (Passive)

The user has extensively trained with all forms of ranged weaponry in order to become a master in the usage of them. As such, the user may use any form of ranged weapon to its fullest potential. (This includes things such as: bows, crossbows, throwing weapons, etc) (since 14 October 2015)  (Achieved after 2 months)

  • Concussion Cannon (Requires 2 open slots)

The user is knowledgeable in building and the use of steam powered concussive technology. These cannons can come in many forms from large and bulky cannons that give large bursts but are quite encumbering to smaller cannons that have lessened effects but are more maneuverable. The effects of the concussive blasts upon people are disorienting and, unfortunately, these effects do not know friend from foe and will even effect the user if used repeatedly in a short time. NOTE: These weapons are illegal to use. (since 14 March 2016)  (Achieved after 6 months)
