This Waterbender belongs to David

Kon is a male warterbender from the Northern Water Tribe. He is the main roleplaying character of The Great Lord David. He is currently in Republic City, having entered the city in 345 ASC.

Personality[]

Above all, Kon is a very serious person. He was in the past a happy child and in his youth he appared to be a gentle spirit, befriending a small Buffalo Yak who he named Yan and remains his companion until now. However, after his parents´s death , he began to feel a void inside his soul that no one could ever replace. In search of a new life, he traveled to the Southern Water Tribe. There, he was raised by his grandmother but even she could not the emotions he felt within.

Kon growed to become a poor and alone human being, even mistreating Yan, the only real friend he had. Even though he desired to master waterbending in such a desperate way, he also lacked prowess in both physical combat or waterbending. Due to this, Kon did not make any friends as he could not engage with the warrior people or practice and play with the waterbenders of the South Pole. All of these left him even colder. After his grandmother´s dead, he realized he had nothing but memories and was completly alone. Life was taking away the one thing Kon always wanted, a family. Until, Kon began to lack any kind of emotion at all, including happiness, joy and affection and realized the only to fill the void he had within him was to become a waterbending master, was to gain true power and not only give pride to his family but to show the world what he could really do. He had nothing left, his family was burried, he had no real friends. He had lost what he had, now he wanted to gain what he didn´t had. In this new phase, Kon became selfish, extremely arrogant and overall insane with achieving the power he desires. This extreme lust also endowed him with a vast will power and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, including mastering waterbending and bloodbending, plus destroying the new Avatar. He will do anything, even if he has to kill or harm others that stand in the way of his success. Once he finds his goal or purpose, he will dedicate everything he has to achieve it. He is also a talented liar and a master manipulator, plus a possessor of a sarcastic and ironic personality, something that he actually enjoys. A being whose true purpose is only to have power, Kon now despises all of those who have the life he never had, those who can hug and kiss their families. Trust and Love have left, now only fear, desire and power remain.

History[]

Kon was born in the Northern Water Tribe in the cold winter of 315 ASC to two powerbul waterbending masters, Manirak and Iluliaq. His parents were powerful warriors and were soon involved in combating enemies of the Water Tribe. Hower Kon´s history begins much earlier. In 151 AG, when Unalaq faked the attack of Barbarians, Kon´s grandparents and Tonraq, father of the late Avatar Korra were the warriors leading the attacks against the invaders, while Unalaq watched from the sidelines. The Water Tribe managed to drive the invaders away from the city however a great battle happened in the Spirit Forest. The Water Tribe was the victor but that great battle awakened dark spirits who got their revenge by destroying the main city. Everything worked as Unalaq planned, has he used his spirit healing to calm them down and return them to their lair. Tonraq´s failure was viewed by his father as a warning that he was not ready to be the next Chief. Unalaq was chosen in his place to be the next ruler of the Water Tribe, while Tonraq was deported and exiled, traveling to the South, to join the weakened Southern Water Tribe, who was still suffering from the lack of waterbenders due to the Southern Raids from the Hundred Year War.

Centuries later these Barbarians returned, growing in numbers and in power and planning to take revenge on the Water Tribe for having manipulated them in such a brutal way. This time the North Leader stood along with Kon´s parents to protect their people, just his grandparents did a long time ago. Although in advantage the surprise attack still caused much destruction and killed many inhabitants, including Kon´s parents who still fought bravely for their survival and for protecting their city and culture. Kon was now an orphan. He soon went to live with his grandmother in the South Pole in one of the trips from the North to the South who´s goal was to help heal the sister tribe. There, Kon became one of the few watebenders and so began practicing his waterbending skills. However, when Kon was already a teenager, he was still an amateur in the waterbending art and was forced to drop from his lessons when his newly found teacher left the South Pole to travel the world in search of adventures. He searched for a faster and greater way to obtain power and so he heard of one of the strongest southern waterbenders of all time, her name was Hama. Everyone there knew of her story as Katara had revealed it in one of her tales and everyone knew of a terrible skill, the art of bloodbending. This woman was however shrouded in mystery, no one appeared to know anything about her, except from the tale that Katara had revealed and every person that was alive in that time was now long gone.

Kon soon abandoned the South Pole and traveled to the Fire Nation, more precisely to the village that Hama had terrozied more than a century ago. He discovered several clues and events in her life, being told she had escaped from her prison and was never seen again. Kon managed to track Hama to the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu, the last location where Hama lived until her death in 128 AG. Here, she pretended to be a fugitive from Ba Sing Se who ran way after the city was taken over by the Fire Nation. A century had passed since her death but many people still remembered her face, describing her as a nice and generous woman. It appeared she kept this disguise all her life, while hiding the greatest power to have ever existed very carefully. Kon took the role of a diplomate from the Southern Water Tribe, having access to a high number of resources and traveled to the house Hama had inhabited. Due to small recession in Omashu and near populations, the house was for sale and Kon used this to his advantage. He searched her house only to find a secret room, an empty room with only a box inside. He used a water whip to force it open and soon discovered a Whale Tooth Comb, the same object that Hama had showed to Team Avatar a long time ago. Kon was now thinking that Hama was never even a bender, she appeared to be a completly normal person, the art people a few called bloodbending shouldn´t even exist. In rage, he used a portion of water to slice it in half, only to find inside a waterbending scroll. It contained advanced moves he had never seen or learned from any master, that was Hama´s true greatest treasure.

He began his training right away, learning about various secrets, mainly plantbending and the sinister bloodbending, however he did not show any prowess at both of those arts, only improving his waterbending to a small degree with access. Without any real progress,  Kon had to search for a new master and he knew where to find the exact one, Republic City as he had heard stories about Tarrlok, Yakone and Amon, the three most powerful bloodbenders to have ever existed.  Kon traveled to Republic City in order to become a true master of bloodbending, by studying their legacy and anything they could have left behind, however he discovered something far worse. Due to his isolated life in the Southern Tribe, he never knew Katara and Aang had made bloobending ilegal in Republic City. He still knew in Republic City he would find what he looked for but both the Avatar and his friends had made his dream almost impossible. Knowing it was the only way for him to gain true power, Kon was willing to dispose of those in his way, carry a private vengeance against the current Avatar and learn the most sinister art in human history.
