Personality

Korui is a very logical but also emotional person, though Korui's emotions tend to be internal and not often expressed. As a result Korui often seems to be cold and apathetic towards others. Korui is not above using violence to further a agenda but Korui finds meaningless violence to be distasteful. Korui tends to prepare for things ahead of time but can wing it if necessary. Korui enjoys books, disucssions, sparring, and vocal classical music.



History

Korui was born to a priestess of Raava to an unknown father in the Northern Watertribe. Korui's mother was very accepting of her androgynous child and Korui had very few problems resulting from the basis of sex or gender throughout the young child's early years. Korui was taught the ways of Raava, which was to perserve kindness, mercy, justice, and order to others by his mother as Korui was growing up as a young child, and Korui took to these teachings. When Korui was 7 years old, the child had accidently bent water out of a vase in their home. Korui's mother then taught her child how to care for white roses because the young waterbender showed interest in making it up to the flower that was in the vase. Korui's mother began to teach her child how to waterbend in a pacifist way and use the staff like some other sects of Raava worship in the Northern Watertribe, however during the eve of Korui's 11 birthday someone broke into their house and stole the child away.

Korui woke up to find out that the child had been kidnapped by a group of Vaatu cultist led by Korui's father. He was a waterbender bent on making his child become a seed to corrupt the Temples of Raava in the Northern Water Tribe. Korui was constantly exposed ideologies such as tyranny, deception, destruction, and chaos. Korui was forced into training with the sickle and her father's aggressive style of waterbending. During Korui's time there, the waterbender began to reflect on the nature of reality, Raava and Vaatu, good and evil, order and chaos, light and dark, violence and peace. Korui began to realize that every rose has it's thorns and that trying to push one ideology leads to an early death and a meaningless existence. So Korui pretended to accept the cult's teaching until they trusted him, then when Korui was 17 years old, the waterbender left the cult in the dead of night.

After leaving the cult, Korui decided to spend some time exploring the world to learn more about how the world operated. During this time Korui saw many things that reinforced the waterbender's ideology, but nothing tat dismissed it. While Korui was generally not looking for violence, the young adult was not afraid to use it and during this time melded both parent's bending styles into a seamless whole. Korui also decided to combine their weapons into a whole, and decided to use a scythe instead of the sickle or staff. Korui became a proficient bender and a well versed academic before deciding to head to the last location on the list, Republic City, by taking a ferry from the Fire Nation.

Weapons
