Appearance

Kurai
Kuria has raven black hair, unsettling grey eyes, and pale skin. She is small and thin but carries herself with an unnatural grace and etiquette. She wears whatever clothes are most appropriate for the situation.


Personality

Kuria is socially fluent and very charming while in her public persona, being very good at changing her projected personality at a whim. While performing her duties as a ninja, Kurai is cold, silent, ruthless, and loyal to the letter. Lately Kurai has decided to perform the duty of forcing people to stop destroying society.



History

Kuria was raised in a remote village within the Fire Nation to two ninja. She was separated from her parents at birth and was raised by her clan collectively, never knowing who was her parents, in order to become a Ninja like her parents before her. She endured rigorous training, exercising, and dieting before being sent on her first mission at the age of twelve, where she stole a noble's love letter to his mistress in order to give another noble blackmail to use against him. Kurai executed her mission flawlessly was bestowed the title of ninja while running an apothecary when not on her missions.

Kurai utilized her abilities to be a successful spy, assassin, guerilla fighter, and manipulator in no small part due to the enjoyment she found in her work. Kurai savors the mental and physical challenges of ninjutsu and was happy with her lifestyle.

However one day while Kurai was away on a mission, her entire village was burnt to the ground by the Fire Nation military because a fellow ninja had given up the location for a hefty sum of money. When Kurai learned of this she tracked the traitor down to his home and killed him. Now that the Fire Nation was no longer safe, Kurai made the decision to take a boat to Republic City, hoping to resume her lifestyle.

The user has trained extensively with the use of classical weapons in order to make up for their deficit when it comes to taking on a bender.

The user has received extensive training in their agility in order to increase their raw physical speed. They would easily exceed any person who relied on their bending.

  • Weight Training (Passive)

The user has received extensive training with weights and other forms of exercise in order to increase their raw physical strength. They would easily exceed any person who relied on their bending.

  • Endurance Training (Passive)

The user has received extensive training in physical endurance in order to increase the amount of physical energy they have at any given time. They would easily exceed any person who relied on their bending.

Basic Abilities

  • Poison Adept (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in the creation and usage of various non-lethal poisons. The effects can range from slowed movement, pain, nausea and disorientation. They cannot use any poisons that would completely render a foe unable to defend themselves. (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Reflex Training (Passive)

The user's reflexes and reaction time are considerably improved, allowing them to respond faster to attacks. (Achieved after 2 weeks)

Initial Abilities
  • Precision Strikes (Passive)

The user has trained in order to achieve the ability to be as precise as possible in combat. This ranges from striking chi points to firing arrows from a bow. However, in focusing their training in this, the user has lessened the total power behind all of their attacks.

  • Lightfoot (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in the art of stealth. The user has received training that allows them to do a multitude of stealth maneuvers; from sneaking silently to achieving quick attacks without making a sound.

  • Chi-Blocking (Passive; Exclusive to Chi-Blocker)

The user is knowledgeable of the chi points along a person's body and how to strike them in order to temporarily disable an opponent. Possibly causing intense pain, paralysis and negating the target's bending.

  • Contortionist (Passive; Exclusive to Chi-Blocker)

Chi-Blockers are capable of achieving a greater level of physical flexibility than others, allowing them to dodge attacks and escape restraints more effectively.


Advanced Abilities

(Note: Once an ability is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)

  • Explosive Crafting (Passive)

The user is knowledgeable in the construction and usage of assorted types of explosives. These explosives can range from simple smoke grenades or even detonate-able satchel charges. NOTE: These weapons are illegal to use.  (Achieved after 2 months)

  • Melee Weapon Mastery (Passive)

The user has extensively trained with all forms of melee weaponry in order to become a master in the usage of them. As such, the user may use any form of melee weapon to its fullest potential. (This includes things such as: swords, axes, maces, etc)  (Achieved after 4 months)

  • Ranged Weapon Mastery (Passive)

The user has extensively trained with all forms of ranged weaponry in order to become a master in the usage of them. As such, the user may use any form of ranged weapon to its fullest potential. (This includes things such as: bows, crossbows, throwing weapons, etc)  (Achieved after 6 months)



Weapons

Kurai's Arsenal
  • O-Wakizashi

A one handed 2 foot long sword with a slight curve. Kurai uses this weapon primarily for slashes though she can use it for stabs if she has to. This weapon is fairly light for a one handed sword but is not concealable, therefore Kurai will only carry this weapon if she knows she will be forced into open combat. Kurai wears this weapon on the back while moving around but will adjust it to her waist when she thinks she may need to draw it.

  • Ko-Wakizashi

A one handed 1 foot long sword with a slight curve. Kurai uses this weapon for a mixture of slashes and stabs. This weapon is very light and can be concealed, but cannot be readily accessed while it is. Kurai will bring this weapon on assassination that require melee assassinations. Kurai wears this weapon on the back while moving around but will adjust is to her waist when she thinks she may need to draw it.

  • Tanto

A 5 inch straight double edged knife with no hilt and an angled point. Kurai uses this weapon primarily for stabs though she can use it for slashes or even throw it if she has to. This weapon is extremely light and easily concealable. Kurai has the weapon concealed on her person at all times, typically in her right sleeve.

  • Hira-Shuriken

A set of 1 inch wide star shaped metal objects. Kurai uses these weapons for delivering poisons to unarmored opponents and distractions. This weapon is supremely light and concealable. Kurai brings this weapon any time she brings her shinobi shozoku and has them concealed within the left side of her body.

  • Fukiya

A 1 foot 7 inch blowgun that fires a variety of darts. Kurai uses this weapon in order to poison an unarmored opponent or provide a distraction. This weapon is decently light and can be concealed, however it cannot be quickly retrieved from concealment. Kurai brings this weapon if she needs to disable multiple opponents in close proximity silently. When she brings this weapon she conceals it in her right leg.

  • Yumi

A 6 foot 9 inch bow made of two pieces of bamboo that is able to shoot a variety of arrows. Kurai uses this weapon in order to deal long distance attacks or provide a distraction. This weapon is moderately light and cannot be concealed. Kurai brings this weapon is she needs to perform a long distance assassination. Kurai carries this weapon on her back.

  • Sho-Kunai

An 8 inch dagger-like weapon that can be attached to rope or cord. Kurai uses this weapon by itself like she would her tanto, to make holes, or pry open doors and windows. When attached to rope or cord, she uses it as a long range weapon able to keep multiple enemies at bay if she gets caught or she can use it to as a makeshift grappling hook. This weapon is very light and decently concealable. Kurai brings this weapon whenever she is in her shinobi shozoku and usually has it concealed in her left leg.

  • Cord

An 8 foot length of black cord. Kurai uses this to suspend herself or to grapple opponents. This tool is very light and not easily concealed. Kurai brings this tool anytime she in in her shinpbi shozoku and has it attached to her mid-back.

  • Darts

Half an inch darts used as ammunition for the fukiya. These are very thin, fast, and almost invisible in the air. They are virtually weightless and supremely concealable. Kurai brings them whenever she brings her fukiya. Kurai typically carries these in a small comportment attached to the back of her shinobi shozoku.

  • Arrows

1 foot 1 inch arrows used an ammunition for her yumi, she has different tipped ones for delivering poisons, sticking in flesh, making distracting sounds, going through glass, and penetrating armor. These are very light but not very concealable. Kurai brings the appropriate arrows whenever she brings her yumi.

  • Shuko

Metal bands that fit around the hand with 1 inch spikes protruding from the palm. These are used for climbing and as an improvised weapon if Kurai has to use them that way. They are decently light but not very concealable. Kurai has these attached to the sides of her shinobi shozoku when she carries them. Shurai will take these when she will need to climb difficult surfaces.

  • Leather Shinobi Shozoku

Midnight-blue armor composed of a cloth and leather mix. This armor does not hinder mobility but does very to protect from any blunt attacks, moderate stabbing or slashing attacks, or fire. Kurai uses this armor for most stealth operations.

  • Chain Shinobi Shozoku

Midnight-blue armor composed of a mixture of chain ringlets, cloth, and leather. This armor does not make noise when moving but does slightly hinder mobility. This armor cannot protect well against moderate blunt attacks, strong stabbing or slashing attacks or fire attacks. Kurai uses this armor when she knows she will have to fight in the open.

  • Smoke Pellets

Grenades in small composite canisters that they are thrown they release larges amounts of smoke. These are easily concealable and Kurai uses them for distractions and to help ambush foes.

  • Toxin Grenades

Grenades in small composite containers that when the button is pressed and they are thrown they release toxins into the air, Kurai has these for paralysis poison and sleep poison. These are easily concealable and Kurai uses them for incapacitating enemies.

  • Remote Detonation Bombs

Bombs in a composite casing that can be remotely triggered by a detonator to cause a a large explosion. Kurai uses these for arson and setting up premeditated kills. Kurai only brings these if she plans for it ahead of time.

  • Explosive Grenades

Grenades in small composite containers that when the button is pressed and they are thrown they cause a small explosion. Kurai uses these in open combat or occsionly for stealth kills.

  • Poison Vials

Durable vials containing paralysis and sleep poisons that Kurai sometimes coats on her weapons.
