Personality Mizuki Mizushima is not a force to reckon yourself with. She is independent and noble. However, she can be somewhat kind to those she deems the need. Despite this, she is quick to lash and can sometimes be easily tempered. Most of the time she is an individual worth looking up to and would protect the lives of those who she loves dearly. Miss Mizushima is only ever awkward when it comes to the opposite sex, where she finds herself blushing and attempting to ignore their existence. She is very passive and intelligent.
History Born with a shock of obsidian hair, Mizuki fit into the main water tribe village rather reasonably. The only different colors of hair were that of the elders, who had stringy and frail spikes of hair. Her eyes also matched those of countless other children, teens, adults and elders. She had a normal appearance. The only thing different about Mizuki was that fact that she was born silent. She did not cry or scream or even open her eyes for more than three seconds. She was born with a hole in her heart, an ailment that the tiny village could not tend too. So Mizuki died that day. Her parents wept over their small baby, holding her and screaming for her to come back to life. The news spread quickly. Everyone begun to mourn. However, Mizuki's father refused to let his daughter just waste away. She was still warm, her life still seeping out of her tiny body. He bundled her in seal furs and brought her to the spirit oasis, a spot in the legend where Arnook had prayed for his daughter Yue. He vaguely knew it would not work but he was desperate to try anything for his failing daughter. He chanted softly and placed her into the water, desperately trying to get the moon spirit to help. He prayed for hours on end, not breaking this trance. It was a lot longer than Arnook. The moon spirit gifted her with part of it's life. Like Yue, her hair turned white as snow. However, unlike Yue, her eyes turned from black-brown to a liquid silver rimmed with the remnants of her own mortality. The baby opened those eyes and let out a loud, healthy cry. Her parents had debated on naming her Yue, after the girl who had once experienced the same miracle. An elder of the tribe had shook her head. It would be a sin to name a child who had her own destined, after that of one who had a larger destiny. So the elder named the child Mizuki. The name meant beautiful moon. Her little brother was born a couple of years later. The small village celebrated this miracle and thanked the moon spirit. Every year, Mizuki and her parents would gather at the spirit oasis and pray to the moon spirit, thanking her for what she has done for Mizuki. As Mizuki grew, her fame died down. It was a good thing as Mizuki disliked all the attention. The only time attention returned to her was when she was the first child to gain her waterbending abilities at the age of nine, recently after her birthday. The other kids were envious but Mizuki always assured them that their time was coming. Mizuki continued to grow into a young woman, sweet and kind. That aspect was from her mother. However, her short fuse was from her father. However, her adorable little brother had been stolen during a raid of their tribe. He was kidnapped while Mizuki was at the store, fetching supplies. A man had grabbed her and hid her in a small crevice of their home because she was blessed by the moon spirit. The man prayed to Mizuki which seemed to terrify the girl. After ten minutes of praying, some raiders murdered the whole family in front of the girl. Once the invasion was over, Mizuki ran all the way home in tears. She witnessed her father dying and her mother frantically trying to stop bleeding. She was yelling that they took her brother. Mizuki had fortunately learned some of her brother's healing abilities and healed their father. The family mourned for the lost brother, unsure if he was dead or alive. When Mizuki turned seventeen, she asked for one thing. Freedom. A new experience. A new start. Her parents granted her permission to go to Republic City, as it sounded to be the best and safest place for their daughter due to constant invasions on their home. The only rule she had to follow was to keep a job for income and write to them every week. Mizuki obliged and her parents shipped her off. Not long after, she found out that her parents had been slaughtered.
Powers Water Tribesman Initial Powers Water Whip The user can create a whip of water to quickly strike at something. Water Jet The user can create a jet of water that can be used to push back or even topple others. Water Wave The user can create a small wave from a nearby source of water that can be used to crash down on something. Temperature Control (Passive) The user can alter the temperature of water, allowing them to cause it to boil or even freeze. Pressure Control (Passive) The user can alter the pressure of water, allowing them to use it to grab or strike things. Basic Powers (Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed.) Water Bullet (Achieved after 1 week) The user rapidly sends a flurry of small water beads which can be used to pummel something in quick succession. (Achieved after 2 weeks) Bonus Powers Ice Claws The user creates claws of ice upon the tips of their fingers which can be used for striking or flung as projectiles. Ice Protector (Achieved after 1 month) Initial Powers Ice Dome The user can create a large dome of ice around them which can be used to protect them and even others from harm. The user is unable to take any other action while maintaining the dome. Octopus Form The user can surround their body in a pressurized suit of water which has eight arms for offense or defense. The user cannot move while using this power. Ice Blades (Exclusive to Ice Protector) The user can create blades of ice from water which can be used as melee or projectile weapons. While wielding these blades, the user cannot use any other waterbending techniques from their hands. Ice Armor (Exclusive to Ice Protector) The user spreads water over their whole body and freezes it, constructing a protective suit of armor. Unlike Earth Armor, it does not restrict speed and mobility and is immensely easy to repair since it's not durable. While it can endure rather basic attacks, the armor would need constant renewal and the user can only use Ice Blades when maintaining the armor. If the user no longer desires to wear the armor, they can instantly cast it off as blast of ice shards around them or simply melt it. Advanced Powers (Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.) Armless Waterbending (Passive) The user is able to waterbend without using arm motions while bending. (Achieved after 2 months) Plantbending (Passive; requires 2 open slots) The user is able to manipulate the water in plants in order to strip the water from them or even control the movements of plants. While they need a plant as a source, they are able to rapidly grow existing plants, even beyond the size they would naturally grow, for use as well as repair damaged plants. Plants with high water density can be extremely resilient to blunt force and even fire but are still vulnerable to sharp objects. (Achieved after 7 months)
