Match

VS

The coin toss was shown in favor of <inser user>. He may take the first post or pass it off to <user> in the area below.

OOC: Ez agreed to hand over the first attack to me so..

Yagura: As he strode into the arena, the firebender swiftly decided to make the first strike. Jets of roaring flame erupted under his feet as he sped towards Patuq, it seemed like he was going to attack him head on. But surprisingly instead, he ascended into the air over him and attempted to fire a volley of fireballs from overhead.

Dice Roll Outcome: 2-Glancing Blow

Patuq: Patuq had anticipated the firebender would initiate the first attack. Patuq quickly bent a water shield to block the oncoming attack. However, because he did not assume the firebender would strike from the air, Patuq had to hastily moved his shield above his head. Patuq blocked some of the attack, but Yagura's attack managed to singe his ears pretty bad, causing him to grimace from the pain. Patuq, however, did not lose focus. "You're gonna need more than some fancy acrobatics," Patuq taunted. He quickly transformed the water from his shield into several water bullets and sent them straight towards Yagura, freezing them before he sent them at his opponent.

Dice Roll Outcome: 1- Direct Hit

Yagura: Yagura's torso was pelted by the icy projectiles when as he landed, nearly falling backwards from the impact. An audible groan escaped his lips as he tried to gain his balance again, while he was sure some bruises would decorate his chest. Yagura looked somewhat helpless, but actually he was thinking of his next attack. Two measly fireballs were shot at Patuq's direction, missing him entirely but that was the idea. Then it revealed a hot, fiery whip was flung towards the waterbender's left ankle. Since it burned quite intensely (ooc: fire charging), Yagura hoped it would make standing for the rest of the fight difficult if it successfully coiled around his foe's ankle.

Dice Roll Outcome: 1- Direct Hit

Patuq: Patuq simply observed the fireballs launch harmlessly past him, quite confused at Yagura's intentions. The tactic completely contrasted the firebender's earlier attack to the surprise of Patuq. Since Patuq mistakenly followed the fireballs instead of Yagura, the fire whip coiled and tighten hard around his left ankle. Patuq gritted his teeth angrily in frustration as the flame-charged whip began searing his ankle, causing him to try to balance on his one good leg due to the excruciatingly painful burn on his left ankle. Knowing full well he was in quite the bind (ooc: no pun intended), Patuq utilized his own water whip and aimed for Yagura's own leg. However, this attack hid Patuq's true intentions, as he began utilizing his armless waterbending to collect an enormous amount of water by his legs, within the fighting arena's limit, to enable him to propel himself high into the air with a large waterspout to take off the strain of balancing on a bad leg.

Dice Roll Outcome: 2-Glancing Blow

Yagura: Failing to completely avoid the whip, Yagura felt an irritating sting on his leg which caused him to accidentally dismiss his flaming whip. The young man weighed his options as he watched his foe ascend with his bending, how he made such a foolish mistake. Taking a few moments to prepare, the firebender conjured a large and explosive orb of searing flames and shot it towards Patuq's tower of water. He had expected enough of it to instantly evaporate and force the waterbender to make a painful return to the ground.

Dice Roll Outcome: 3- Miss/dodge

Patuq: Anticipating Yagura would attempt to destroy his enormous water spout, Patuq bent out some of the water from his tower to angle himself and the water downwards and to his left to quickly dodge the oncoming, flaming orb of death. Now lower to the ground, Patuq converted the water he extracted from his water tower into several small but pressurized water bullets and launched them at the firebender while simultaneously refilling his water spout with more water slowly. Patuq launched the water bullets directly towards Yagura and the ground surrounding him, hoping enough would hit their mark and leave Yagura open for a bigger attack.

Dice Roll Outcome: 1- Direct Hit (OOC: had to re-roll a 5).

Yagura: A scream of agony burst from his lungs as he felt the bullets pummel his right arm. As the pain flowed through it, he was ashamed of himself for failing just now. Deciding to take a different approach, jets of his fire carried him into the sky. His body moved swiftly through the air before he dashed behind Patuq and discharged a stream of fire towards his back.

Dice Roll Outcome: 4- Blocked

Patuq: Well accustomed now to the firebender's indirect attacks, Patuq had little difficulty rotating himself around within the water spout to confront Yagura directly. He pulled out water from his enormous water tower and converted it into a large water shield in front of him to block Yagura's fire stream entirely. Patuq then pulled water from the surroundings and blast a highly pressurized jet of water directly towards Yagura, knowing the direct hit should have hindered the firebender's movements enough to accurately blast him with a stronger attack.

Dice Roll Outcome: 2- Glancing Blow

Yagura:The attack whizzed by his arm, giving him another bruise to worry about. He was growing quite frustrated. The firebender flew ahead, making it look like he was enraged and trying to launch some foolhardy attack. But truthfully, he flew past him on purpose, trying to immolate Patuq's entire shirt.

Dice Roll Outcome: 3- Miss/dodge

Patuq: Refusing to underestimate his opponent and fall for his feints, Patuq anticipated this tactic from Yagura as well. He immediately removed a large volume of water from the water spout again to lower himself underneath Yagura before the firebender had time to immolate his shirt. Now almost back at ground level and with little water left in his water spout spout, Patuq used the water he pulled from the spout and converted it into an enormous water whip, which he swung and attempted to wrap around the firebender's ankle and toss him down to the ground, much like the firebender had attempted and succeeded earlier in the match.

Dice Roll Outcome: 3- Miss/dodge

Yagura: "Darn it!" He whined, seeing another one of his attacks failed. Noticing the whip, it wasn't that difficult to lunge to the other side. Losing patience and definitely happy to see the tower finally gone, the firebender dashed forward. As he flew downwards, his entire left fist was engulfed in flames while his elbow was pushed by another jet of flame. Grateful his near invulnerability to his own flames made this possible. He aimed to deliver a flaming uppercut, coming at a devastating speed towards Patuq's chin. Successful or not, he'd finally land on the ground.

Dice Roll Outcome: 1- Direct Hit

Patuq Caught completely off-guard by Yagura's lightning-fast, straight-forward approach, Patuq took the full force of Yagura's punch to his chin, burning much of the underside of his chin as he was sent crashing to the ground on his back. Patuq laid as still as he could, as though he had neither the strength nor the will to continue fighting. I hated using this trick in the military, it's cowardly but it works, Patuq thought to himself. In reality, Patuq was playing possum while he utilized his armless water bending to pull water from the arena region behind Yagura and launched a barrage of water bullets straight at the firebender's back. Learned this old trick in the military, it's cowardly but it works and saved my mind more times than I can think, Patuq thought to himself.

Dice Roll Outcome: 3- Miss/dodge

Yagura: His experience working with the RCPD had made him quite wise to Patuq's feign, making it only common sense to swiftly sidestep every incoming projectile. Charging ahead, he made another attempt at immolating Patuq's clothing. He hoped this unorthodox attack enhanced by his fire charging technique would end the match.

Dice Roll Outcome: 4- Blocked

Patuq Knowing he'd need a counter on the chance Yagura dodge his water bullet shot, Patuq quickly created a water shield without using his arms to douse any chances of his clothing igniting. He saw through it, this guy's definitely giving me quite the competition, Patuq thought to himself. After blocking the immolation attempt, Patuq created a large, pressurized jet of water and launched it straight towards Yagura in hopes of distancing himself from the firebender and dealing a heavy blow as well.

Dice Roll Outcome: 3- Miss/Dodge

Yagura: "Hmm...." Rocketing above and dodging the attack was simple enough, Yagura had to admit he was growing tired of Patuq's continued resistance. He moved down and tried to overwhelm nearby water vents with a widespread volley of charged fireballs, trying to evaporate a good amount of water available for bending.

Dice Roll Outcome: 4- Blocked

Patuq: Patuq noticed Yagura's attention shift from him to the vents almost instantly. He immediately pulled water quickly from other vents behind him and sent a large wave of water across the vents Yagura targeted, dousing the flames before they could reach the liquid inside of them. Noticing Yagura in such close proximity to the vents gave Patuq an idea for his next action. He rapidly pulled water from one of the vents directly across from Yagura that also appeared out of the firebender's field of view. Utilizing his armless waterbending, Patuq wasted no time forming the water into a jet pressurizing the water as quickly as he could to launch it towards Yagura, hoping the speed, pressure, and location of the attack would catch Yagura off-guard.

Dice Roll Outcome: 4- Blocked

Yagura: He groaned in frustration as another tactic failed him. The firebender was quite familiar with his foe's ability to bend without use of his arms, the technique was getting on his nerves honestly. Facing the attack with a decisive glare, he discharged a blazing stream that completely obliterated the torrent of water. Since his aggressive and headstrong attacks were the most successful, he decided to try that again. His hands clenched together as a powerful orb of flame was created between them, pushing his hands apart. Leaping upwards, Yagura propelled his body straight towards his foe and aimed to hurl the explosive sphere right into his chest. Sure the point blank explosion could harm his clothes, but either way Patuq could be far worse off.

Dice Roll Outcome: 2-Glancing Blow

Patuq: Patuq was equally as irritated that another attack of his failed, but he did not have time to dwell on it as he tried to move quickly our of the way of Patuq's exploding fire orb. The blast dealt deep burns on Patuq's arms, but his sharp movements coupled with a quick water shield prevented any other parts of his body from receiving any serious injuries. Patuq decided he was best off utilizing a direct assault for his counter attack. He quickly bent water from the vents and created a wave below his feet, bending it rapidly forward and adding more water to it as he went so that he and the wave would crash straight down on Yagura. Patuq made his hand into a fist as he and the wave crashed down towards Yagura.

Dice Roll Outcome: 3- Miss/Dodge (OOC: rerolled from a 5)

Yagura: Blasts of fire erupting from his hands and feet were the only reason wasn't swept up in the wave. His competitive spirit was driving him to defeat this skilled waterbender once and for all. He began rocketing towards him, feigning another brash attack. Yagura knew he couldn't rely on them forever even with their success rate aside. Soaring over his foe, the firebender came back down and engulfed his entire torso and both arms in raging fire, eliminating the remnants of his shirt from the previous attack. His plan was to basically give Patuq the worst backhug of his life. If successful, Yagura would latch onto him with all his might.

Dice Roll Outcome: 1- Direct Hit

OOC: K that was my last post, we're supposed to stop at 10 posts each so ya got one more bud.

Patuq: Patuq was surprised by the firebender's agility, so much so that this time, he fell for the firebender's feint, flinching back to dodge purely by instinct. Due to the velocity he traveled at with the wave, Patuq lost sight of Yagura for a brief moment. However, as he heard the firebender rocketing towards him, Patuq glanced his head back a split second before the firebender's inflamed body grappled him. Patuq shouted in pain as his entire back was incinerated by the flames. As he frantically shifted and flailed his arms helplessly to throw Yagura off of him, Patuq suddenly began faltering to the ground. However, he slammed both his hands to the ground to keep from falling and pushed himself back, using every bone and muscle in his body to force himself to stand, although just barely, as he waited anxiously for the fight to be called while the fire continued burning him. Patuq breathed a heavy sigh of relief as the final bell began ringing loudly, allowing himself to collapse to the ground in exhaustion.
