There, she'll be the ringmaster of a guild of thieves. Taira is going to also meet up with the leader of Faceless, eventually, and make a deal with them for their protection.
Appearance Taira is a fairly good-looking girl. She's actually fairly small for her age. She's 5'6", an average height, but she's very lanky. Typically, she can be seen in skirts, a thigh-high socks, and jackets. Her long, wavy brown hair is typically pulled back from her face.
Personality Although raised to believe she's better than most people, she only uses that logic playfully. In all truth, she's fairly self-conscious, and believes everyone has their faults, as well as their strengths, although she does have a few prejudices, she tries her best to have an open mind. In her case, a few of her strengths is her friendliness, which in return is a weakness- She does not trust people easily, and she's easy to cut people off. She's very protective of her friends as well, sometimes a bit too much. Also, she's very outgoing, and loves to perform her magic tricks and address crowds. She has a very demanding demeanor, which typically gives people a reason to pay attention to her. In contrast, she can sometimes be seen as an attention seeker, and if someone points it out, they can see that she gets offended a bit easily. Another weakness of hers is that she can be very selfish and greedy. Especially about money.
History Taira was born to a notable family in the Earth Republic. Which one is unknown. She is known to have had cut off ties from her family ages ago. Instead, she just tells people that she was born to a nonbender named Rosalia and an Earthbender named Edah. It was a very illustrous family, and she had no siblings. She found her life to be utterly inane and frivolous. When she was fifteen, she found that she very much could not take being bored all the time. The last straw was when she was told that she was to be betrothed to a man who had the exact same boring life. Taira couldn't take it anymore, so in an act of rebellion, she ran away. She was lucky to have found a wonderful man named Teiji to have taken her under his wing. He was the ringmaster of a circus that was passing through town. Taira found it extremely intriguing, so she went along with them. During her time there, she had learned a few things of herself- One, she had a bad habit of stealing things under people's noses. Taira was very good at it, too. She had gained quite a bit of money before she had gotten herself caught by a big man who threatened her life. As much as it scared Taira, she didn't tell Teiji about the incident, and she moved on, continuing to steal . Her thievery got more and more grand over the years, and by the time she was twenty, she had a small fortune. Teiji still didn't know about her little trickery, but he was bound to find out one night when he caught a man trying to stab her for stealing a ring he was going to give his beloved. Teiji ordered her to return it, and she came clean about everything after that. Teiji was sure that there would be people coming after her, so in a fit of rage, he exiled her. She left without a word, leaving her fortune for the circus she had left behind, and decided to travel. Taira used the card tricks Teiji had taught her over the years, and it took her years on her own for her to grow her own style. Taira used these tricks for very selfish reasons - For money, mainly. After a couple of years, she found herself in Republic City. Taira liked it there, as well, so she decided to stay there. She would use the money she gained over the years to start her own theatre club, and continue growing a fortune for herself, and those who help her in the endeavor. She's not that selfish, after all.
