Taru works hard to accomplish his goal of seeing peace and serenity in Republic City. During his time back home, Taru heard from his relatives that moved there that the police were the elite, the few who enforced liberty and equality for every citizen.

Personality

Taru's personality is generally quiet, but he will lash out at those that force him to become violent. Because he wishes to work as an officer of the law, he learns to cope with his anger and bottle it away during stressing situations.

Ideology

Taru solely believes that any who abide by the law and respect the law are good citizens; people that he could inevitably trust. Those who violate and/or disrespect the law are the lowest of the low of scum and must be dealt with reasonably. Letting such people run amok would only cause further problems and derail the peaceful system entirely.

Strengths Versus Weaknesses

His general strengths include his resourcefulness, able to figure out a plan if all else fails. His overwhelming ability to aid in the protection of the weak enables him to remain strong despite adversity. His weaknesses are his temper when angered, as he will become unreasonable and unstable. His lack of bending training has caused his powers to come at a slower rate than most others. Learning these abilities takes much longer, so, as a result, he will resort to basic hand-to-hand combat for better results.

Attitude

Taru's attitude toward most people is grim and unreliable. Though he turns a blind eye to the shady figures, he still remains suspicious of their intentions. He treats all individuals as individuals and never undermines their own self worth. When faced with criminals, Taru will approach at a stronger standpoint and attempt to reason with them before taking police action into consideration.

Initial Powers
  • Earth Bomb

The user can send a small boulder flying in any direction once struck which breaks apart into many smaller projectiles when it hits something.

  • Earth Smash

The user is able to crush or even shatter anything made of stone without any force required.

  • Earth Shield

The user is able to create a small wall made of stone which can be used to defend or obstruct a path.

  • Earth Levitation (Passive)

The user is able to cause earth to levitate allowing them to use any earth they control as a moderate defense or even to allow time to prepare an attack.

  • Compression Control (Passive)

The user is able to compress earth into a much denser state allowing them to harden soil or stone for stronger offense or defense. The user must take time to compress the earth.

Basic Powers

  • Earth Gauntlet

The user is able to craft a gauntlet of stone around their arm which enhances their blunt attacks. Achieved after 1 Week (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Earth Column

The user is able to force sharp columns of stone out of the ground that can be used to cut or even stab others as well as obstruct paths. Achieved after 2 Weeks (Achieved after 2 weeks)

Initial Powers
  • Earthquake

The user is able to strike the ground and create large tremors which can disorient or even topple others in a large area around them. The user is unable to differentiate friend from foe with this power.

  • Earth Tunneling (Passive)

The user is able to tunnel through any form of earth in order to travel around and even avoid obstructions.

  • Crystal Blades (Exclusive to Gem Blader)

The user is able to refine crystals from the ground and form blades that can be used as a melee or projectile weapon for a short time. While wielding these blades, the user cannot use any other earthbending techniques from their hands.

  • Crystal Cannon (Exclusive to Gem Blader)

The user summons a lump of crystal from the ground and slams into it, shattering the crystal and showering the area in front of them with sharp fragments.


Advanced Powers

(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)

  • Seismic Sense (Passive)

The user is able to sense their surroundings by feeling tremors in the ground. This allows the user to 'see' with their earthbending in a large area around them. (Achieved after 2 months)

  • Metalbending (Passive; requires 2 open slots)

The user is able to bend metal. Metal is significantly denser than stone and in turn makes the act of bending it take longer than if it were stone. The user may only metalbend one object at a time, the size of the object does not matter nor do any other objects connected. (Achieved after 7 months)
