Yong is a tall, muscular man, with sleep blond hair and blue eyes.
He is a tough, too-serious, and efficient man who always abides by the rules and is "weak to" them. He often has difficulty leaving his commanding, serious mode and relaxing, even for the sake of another. Yong has to deal with an unreasonable boss along with the troublemaking criminals as an officer of the force. He does not tolerate any mistakes, is a neat freak, and happens to have a rather pessimistic nature. He has a lack of experience when it came at relationships and doesn't like to display his vulnerability towards overs.
Yong Bae grew up in a life of poverty and was raised by a single mother who struggled to make money as a theatre actress in the Fire Nation. However, as a child, Yong was careless and content with his life and the people that surrounded him. When he reached the age of six, his mother would often take him backstage when she was practicing for her upcoming live performances. He would sword-fight and play with older teens who were cast as extras in the plays. When he was seven he discovered his talent for airbending.
When Yong turned eleven, his world changed when his mother got engaged to a wealthy lawyer who worked in a city outside of Republic City in the Earth Republic. Yong was furious and was determined to run away. It was around this time that he had developed feelings for a girl named Tai Lyu who worked along side her mother to make the clothes for the cast. When Yong asked Tai Lyu to run away with him, she shot his hopes down and said that he would have a better life with his new family. Yong was genuinely shocked and went home disappointed. When Yong turned twelve, his mother and newly wedded stepfather traveled to a city named Maai Tee.
Yong lived a privileged live in Maai Tee, but his entire demeanor changed. He was more stark and aloof than usual. At the age of sixteen, Yong was bullied by people he went to school with. His new LIFE IN Maai Tee wasn't as comforting as life in the Fire Nation. His mother, who had abandoned a life as an air nomad, suggested that he learn to airbend in one of the Air Temples as an escape. Yong agreed, and later, his stepfather made arrangements for Yong to learn airbending at the Eastern Air Temple.
Yong stayed at the Temple for a little over four years. At the age of 21, Yong decided to move to Republic City and join the police force to put his new skills to good use. He had a strong desire to help those who couldn't help themselves after training with an airbending Monk named Yaun Chin who would feed the homeless and protect the poor outside the city. After enrolling in a police academy, Yong was hired on the force in Republic City.
The user sends a burst of air out in the shape of a ball in front of them which can be used offensively or defensively.
The user creates a funnel of air in front of them that redirects attacks around them.
The user sends a sharp jet of air out in the shape of a crescent which can be used to cut things.
The user is naturally more agile than a normal human.
The user can glide across the air for a short period of time; this can be sustained for a medium amount of time by using a glider.
(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed.)
The user can create a vacuum of air which pulls things toward them. (Achieved after 1 week)
The user rapidly sends a flurry of small air blasts which can be used to pummel something in quick succession. (Achieved after 2 weeks)
Wind Fighter(Achieved after 1 month)
The user can build up massive momentum while running which can then be focused into a powerful concussive blast. The user becomes disoriented for a short time after using this power.
The user is able to redirect air flow around them, removing air resistance and generating a wind current behind them, thus greatly increasing their running speed. (50-60 mph). The user cannot use the power to enhance the speed of their flight/gliding or jumping and they're vulnerable to fatigue and high-speed collision while running at these new speeds.
The user can focus the air to a fine blade which can be used as a melee or projectile weapon for a short time. While wielding these blades, the user cannot use any other airbending techniques from their hands.
The user can produce a gust of air to launch enemies upwards, followed by a downwards air current to slam them into the ground with increased force. The user becomes disoriented for a short time after using this power and they cannot use it from long distances.
(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)
The user can create a large spiraling gust of air out all around them which is can be used to knock down or disorient others. The user is unable to move for a short time after using this power. (Achieved after 2 months)
The user is able to sustain controlled flight with seemingly no limits. While it has no direct offensive or defensive capabilities, the potential is nearly limitless; a glider is not required. They are faster than users of assisted flight, can fly completely quiet and can fly up to 60 miles per hour. (Achieved after 7 months)
